1. Context and Goals

<aside> đź’ˇ Context: Ali Reviews wanted more users to continue with the $1 offer when they chose the free plan. While users were viewing plans and selecting the free plan, we offered $1 for the first month. They were then charged for the paid plan in the second month, allowing them to try all paid plan features.

Ali Reviews wanted to increase the number of paid users by introducing a $1 first-month offer for users who selected the free plan.

2. Experiment design

We designed two pricing page variations and ran an A/B test:

Version A – Transparent Approach

👉 Hypothesis: Clear, transparent information would build trust and reduce uninstall rates.

Version B – Marketing-Heavy Approach

👉 Hypothesis: By hiding the free plan, more users would “default” to the paid plan and increase conversions.
